New Delhi, Jan 6: The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has extended the last date for filling the online application form for its entrance examination for the 2026–27 academic session, allowing more candidates to avail the reduced application fee.

According to an official release, candidates can now submit their applications without a late fee up to January 13, 2026. Applications will also be accepted from January 14 to 16, 2026, with a late fee. The entrance examination, conducted for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in fashion design, management and technology, will be held on February 8, 2026.

The Computer-Based Test (CBT) and pen-and-paper-based examination will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in 102 cities across the country.

For the 2026–27 batch, NIFT has significantly reduced the application fee across categories. The fee for Open, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and Open-EWS candidates has been reduced from Rs 3,000 to Rs 2,000, while candidates belonging to SC, ST and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories will now pay Rs 500 instead of Rs 1,500.

NIFT said the extension aims to ensure that a larger number of aspirants benefit from the reduced fee structure and are able to apply for the entrance examination.

Interested candidates can access detailed information and submit their applications through the official NTA website.
