Srinagar, Dec 8: Srinagar Police have taken stringent legal action against several hotels, homestays and houseboats for failing to comply with mandatory Form-C reporting requirements under the Immigration & Foreigners Act—an obligation for all establishments hosting foreign nationals.
The action follows routine inspections across the city aimed at tightening security and ensuring proper documentation of foreign visitors.
Hotels Booked in Rajbagh
During checks in the Rajbagh area, Hotel Blossoms, Hotel Grand MS, and Hotel Golden Forest were found to have allowed foreign nationals to stay without submitting Form-C to the Foreigners Registration Office (FRO). Police Station Rajbagh registered FIR No. 65/2025 under Sections 8 and 23-B of the Immigration & Foreigners Act.
Hotel Booked in Khanyar
In Khanyar, Hotel Khyber in Khayam was booked after management failed to produce any evidence of Form-C compliance despite repeated instructions. FIR No. 57/2025 was filed at Police Station Khanyar under relevant provisions of the Act.
Homestay Booked in Lal Bazar
In the Lal Bazar area, IMY Homestay at Nowabagh Bagwanpora was found to have concealed the stay of a foreign national and failed to file mandatory online Form-C reporting. Police Station Lal Bazar registered FIR No. 60/2025 under Sections 8 and 23(b).
Accommodation Booked in Nishat
In Nishat, police booked a residential accommodation being used for hosting foreign guests without mandatory reporting. FIR No. 101/2025 was registered at Police Station Nishat under Sections 8 and 23(b).
Houseboats Booked in Ram Munshi Bagh
In Ram Munshi Bagh, several houseboats were found in violation of mandatory reporting rules. These include:
