Srinagar: The Working Committee of the J&K National Conference, which met on 27 and 28 November 2025, unanimously passed a series of resolutions reaffirming the party’s positions and responding to recent security incidents.
Special status reaffirmed
The Working Committee unanimously reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the restoration of Jammu And Kashmir’s Special Status. The Committee said the issue is central to the aspirations and dignity of the people and must be addressed without further delay. The party pledged to continue its principled fight for full restoration.
Immediate restoration of statehood sought
The Committee urged the Government Of India to immediately restore full Statehood to Jammu And Kashmir, saying the promise had been made on the floor of Parliament, repeatedly affirmed in public forums, and noted by the Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court.
Condemnation of Delhi terror attack
The Working Committee expressed serious concern and unequivocally condemned the terror attack in Delhi. It extended heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and said that in a civilised society violence has no place and must be dealt with firmly and decisively.
Nowgam blast: call for probe
The Committee also expressed deep concern over the Nowgam blast and conveyed condolences to affected families. It called for an investigation at the highest level and said responsibility should be fixed for any deviation from standard operating procedure.
Protection and safety of J&K people across India
The Working Committee voiced serious concern over reports of harassment faced by students, traders and residents of J&K in different parts of the country. It strongly condemned selective targeting in the aftermath of recent events and urged all state governments to ensure the safety, dignity and protection of the lives and property of Kashmiris and other residents of Jammu and Kashmir living or working across India. The Committee stressed that not every Kashmiri is a terrorist or a supporter of terror.
Commitment to manifesto promises
The Committee reiterated the party’s commitment to fulfilling all promises made in its manifesto.
Support for Omar Abdullah government
The Working Committee unanimously reaffirmed its full support to the Government led by Omar Abdullah and urged the administration to continue fulfilling the aspirations of the people and upholding their dignity.
