Srinagar: Fond memories, warm camaraderie, and decades-old bonds came alive as former colleagues of the Jammu and Kashmir Information Department gathered for their annual reunion on Wednesday.
The meeting turned into a nostalgic celebration of friendships forged through years of service. Laughter, stories, and heartfelt conversations filled the atmosphere as retired officers and staff recalled professional challenges, shared anecdotes, and celebrated one another’s personal and career milestones.
Attendees described the event as a reminder of the “esprit de corps” that once defined their working years. “It felt as if no time had passed at all. The bonds we created in the department remain as strong as ever,” said one of the participants.
Special appreciation was extended to the organisers, led by the veteran journalist and former officer Qazi Mohammad Shafi, who was joined by Mohammad Yasin Khan, Mohiuddin Reshi, Nazir Ahmad Kabli, and Showkat Ahmad. Their efforts brought together colleagues from across the Valley, including distant places such as Karnah.
Participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to reconnect and pledged to continue the tradition of annual reunions. “These gatherings not only revive old friendships but also strengthen our resolve to cherish the values of service and fellowship that shaped our lives,” one of the organisers noted.
The reunion concluded with a renewed commitment to maintain the spirit of togetherness and to make many more memories in the years ahead.
