SRINAGAR: A delegation of prominent tour and travel operators from Mumbai are on a visit to Kashmir and have expressed commitment to working jointly with local stakeholders for the revival of tourism in Jammu & Kashmir.
A member of the group, while speaking to Ziraat Times, said that during their visit to the Valley, the operators met Mushtaq Chaya, Chairman of the J&K Hoteliers Club, and assured him of their support in rebuilding the sector following the setback caused by the Pulwama incident.
Speaking to reporters, the delegation said it was their “collective responsibility” to help bring back vibrancy to J&K’s tourism industry, even if it means bearing some initial financial losses. “Profit will eventually return, but what matters now is to stand together and help tourism play its role in people’s lives,” they said.
The operators underlined the importance of unity between Mumbai-based travel agents and local hoteliers, stressing that collaboration could help revive confidence among tourists and fulfill the aspirations of those dependent on the sector for livelihood.
