Srinagar: The Kashmir World Film Festival (KWFF) has announced its 5th edition, scheduled to be held in Srinagar from November 1 to 7, 2025. Organisers have issued a call for entries, inviting films of all categories and genres from across India and around the world.

The regular submission deadline is September 30, 2025, while the late deadline is October 7, 2025. Interested filmmakers can apply through the festival website www.kashmirworldfilmfestival.com or contact the organisers via email at [email protected] and WhatsApp at +91 990 666 9999.

KWFF has over the years emerged as a significant cultural platform in Kashmir, bringing together filmmakers, critics, and audiences to celebrate cinema and creative storytelling. The festival showcases films ranging from features and documentaries to shorts and experimental works, providing space for both established and emerging filmmakers.

US-based Kashmiri academic and artist Sadaf Munshi welcomed the announcement and encouraged wider participation. “Friends in Kashmir, do not miss this festival in November. And if you are a filmmaker, sure try to enter. A big hand to the entire team of organizers, and kudos to Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan, for pulling such an event together. I am sure it will be a great success,” she wrote in a social media post.

The festival director, Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan, has been instrumental in shaping KWFF into a regular cinematic event in the Valley, drawing both local and international attention. Organisers hope this year’s edition will further strengthen Kashmir’s cultural calendar and offer audiences an opportunity to engage with diverse cinematic voices.
