SRINAGAR: The Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) has called upon the Jammu & Kashmir administration to incorporate its views and suggestions before finalizing the report of the committee headed by the Chief Secretary on the regularization of temporary workers.
EJAC leader Sajjad Parray and other leaders while addrrssing a press conference in Srinagar today said that excluding employees’ perspectives could make the panel’s report “one-sided” and undermine the entire purpose of the exercise.
“The voice of the employees who are directly affected must be heard and factored in. Otherwise, the report may end up being incomplete and futile,” Parray stated.
He emphasized that EJAC, as a representative body of employees, has consistently advocated for fair and transparent regularization policies to safeguard the rights and livelihoods of thousands of temporary workers across Jammu & Kashmir.
The government committee, led by the Chief Secretary, is currently preparing recommendations on the long-pending issue of temporary workers’ regularization, which has been a major demand of employees’ unions in the Union Territory.
