CII appoints Anjali Singh as  Chairperson for the Northern Region, including J&K

Gurugram — The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Northern Region has announced the appointment of Anjali Singh, Executive Chairperson of ANAND Group, as its new Chairperson for the year 2025-26. The appointment follows the untimely demise of  Sunjay Kapur, Chairman of Sona Comstar, who had assumed the role earlier this year. Mr. Kapur’s passing is being mourned as a significant loss to India’s industrial and policy circles.

Ms. Singh takes over the leadership mantle at a crucial time, bringing decades of experience in corporate strategy, governance, and sustainable mobility. She currently heads the Group Supervisory Board of ANAND Group, one of India’s leading auto component conglomerates, and also holds key leadership positions in Gabriel India and Dana Anand India. Her leadership portfolio includes a strong focus on ESG, skill development, and advanced manufacturing.

As Chairperson, Ms. Singh will spearhead CII’s initiatives across Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and the Union Territories of Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh.

In a statement issued to Ziraat Times after her appointment, Ms. Singh said, “This is a moment of both reflection and responsibility. While I step into this role under extremely sad circumstances, I remain fully committed to serving both the Region and the Nation to the best of my ability.” She outlined her priorities, which include accelerating next-generation reforms, launching district development initiatives, and promoting digital transformation among SMEs.

Ms. Singh also pledged to expand ESG adoption across industries, establish new skill centres to address future workforce needs, and increase the participation of women and underrepresented communities in the industrial ecosystem. “We will work towards enabling best-practice sharing across states, fostering innovation, and ensuring inclusive and consistent growth,” she added.

Known for her advocacy of the ‘Make in India’ campaign, Ms. Singh has served in several leadership roles within CII. She has been the Chairperson of the CII Haryana State Council (2023), Co-Chair of the CII National Committee on Smart Manufacturing, and a Member of the CII International Council. She also plays an active role in the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA) as the Chairperson of its Western Region and a member of its Executive Committee.

Her appointment is seen as a move that ensures leadership continuity at CII and reaffirms its commitment to industrial transformation, sustainability, and inclusive development in Northern India.
