CAIT Kashmir Chapter’s new Working Committee gets official approval

Srinagar: The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has officially approved the constitution of its Kashmir Chapter Working Committee, following a formal proposal submitted by Farhan Kitab, who has been confirmed as the President of the newly restructured committee.

In a letter issued on July 15 by Praveen Khandelwal, Member of Parliament and Secretary General of CAIT, the national body expressed satisfaction with the formation of the committee. The approval follows consultations with Sumit Agarwal, Joint Secretary General of CAIT, ensuring that the process aligns with the organization’s core values and mission.

The approved CAIT Kashmir Working Committee includes the following members:

  • Farhan Kitab – President

  • Fayaz Ahmad Khan – Senior Vice President

  • Peer Imtiyaz Ul Hassan – General Secretary

  • Waseem Afroze Khan – Vice President

  • Sajjad Gul – Additional General Secretary

  • Omer Mukhtar – Chief Advisor

  • Mohammad Altaf Dar – Chief, Publicity/Media

  • Farhat – Treasurer

  • Mehraj Ud Din Ganai – Organiser

  • Imtiyaz Qalander – Advisor

Praveen Khandelwal conveyed his best wishes to the team and expressed confidence in their ability to serve and empower the trading community in Jammu & Kashmir, while also advancing CAIT’s national vision of a “Viksit Bharat.”

The formation of this committee is expected to strengthen advocacy for traders’ interests in the region, promote digital transformation in retail, and support policy dialogue with local and national authorities.
