ICC Jammu Chairman meets LG  Manoj Sinha, raises key industry concerns

Srinagar — Rahul Sahai, Chairman of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Jammu Chapter, met with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan in Srinagar on Tuesday to discuss vital issues concerning trade, commerce, and the industrial sector in Jammu and Kashmir.

During the meeting, Sahai highlighted several pressing challenges faced by industries in the Jammu region. He shared a set of recommendations aimed at accelerating industrial growth, enhancing the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB), and strengthening models of public-private partnership across the Union Territory.

He stressed the importance of the robust implementation of existing industrial policies, timely disbursement of financial incentives, improved infrastructure support, and streamlined regulatory clearances. Sahai also acknowledged the UT Government’s proactive efforts in creating a business-friendly environment and lauded the administration’s continuous work to improve connectivity, simplify governance processes, and attract both domestic and international investment.

In addition, he commended the administration’s effective management of the ongoing Amarnath Yatra and initiatives aimed at reviving the tourism sector in the region.

Lieutenant Governor Sinha gave a patient hearing to the issues raised and assured continued support to the business and industrial community of the Union Territory.

The meeting marks another step in ongoing efforts to foster dialogue between the administration and industry stakeholders for the sustainable economic development of Jammu and Kashmir.
