Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah congratulated people on the auspicious occasion of Urs of Hazrat Ameer-e-Kabeer, Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA).
Dr. Farooq emphasized the unparalleled contributions and enduring legacy of Ameer-e-Kabeer, highlighting his pivotal role in promoting education, enlightenment, and peace throughout the region. He stated that Shah-e-Hamdan’s vision laid the foundation for the cultural and religious identity of the society.
“Thanks to Shah-e-Hamdan’s foresight, our region became a renowned hub for globally acclaimed handicrafts,” Dr. Farooq said adding, “He is credited with constructing numerous mosques and acquiring land across Kashmir, which he generously bequeathed to the Muslim community. His tireless dedication to Islamic learning and the socio-political upliftment of the marginalised is truly unmatched.”
“He inspired people to lead lives of piety and discipline, emphasizing that true devotion to the Almighty lies in serving those who suffer. He urged individuals to rise above pride, anger, and greed. There is much that the younger generation can learn from his life and teachings,” he said.
Omar Abdullah, in his message to the people on this annual Urs, stated, “Our society has been shaped by the teachings of great Sufis, sages, and mystics. The influence of Hazrat Shah Hamadan (RA) on our lives is profound. It is essential that we introduce our younger generation to the lives and teachings of such remarkable figures. I extend my warmest greetings to everyone on this auspicious occasion, hoping it brings the much-needed peace, prosperity, and tranquility
