Against Kashmir’s values of peace and hospitality: PHDCCI Kashmir condemns Pahalgam terror attack

Srinagar: The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), Kashmir chapter has strongly condemned the brutal terrorist attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam, describing it as a cowardly and inhuman act that has shocked the entire business community.

Chairman of PHDCCI Kashmir, A P Vicky Shaw, in a statement to Ziraat Times, expressed deep anguish over the incident and called for an immediate high-level inquiry. “Targeting innocent tourists is an inhuman act that goes against the values of peace and hospitality that Kashmir stands for,” he said, demanding that the perpetrators be brought to justice without delay.

The chamber emphasized that such attacks not only result in tragic loss of life but also deal a heavy blow to the tourism sector—one of the cornerstones of the region’s economy. PHDCCI urged the government to take stringent steps to ensure the safety of both tourists and locals.

As a mark of protest and solidarity with the victims, PHDCCI has called upon all business establishments across Kashmir to observe a complete shutdown. “We stand united against terrorism and violence,” Mr. Shaw added. “The business community must send a strong message that such acts will not be tolerated.”

PHDCCI extended its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and reiterated its demand for urgent and concrete action to prevent such tragedies in the future.
