Srinagar: In the wake of the continued closure of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, the Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK) has called upon the government to urgently facilitate the airlifting of stranded tourists who are facing immense hardships due to the disruption in surface transport.
In an official statement issued to Ziraat Times, the President TAAK Rauf A Tramboo expressed serious concern over the distress faced by hundreds of travelers stuck due to road closure and urged the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and the Chief Minister to intervene by initiating special flight services between Jammu and Srinagar.
“The road closure has severely impacted travelers, leaving them stranded and anxious. As a state that thrives on tourism, it is our collective responsibility to ensure their safety and comfort. We appeal to the government and airlines to operate special flights on the Jammu-Srinagar route to ease the situation,” the TAAK President stated.
TAAK emphasized that such timely intervention is essential not only for the convenience of the stranded tourists but also for upholding the region’s reputation as a safe and tourist-friendly destination.
