Srinagar: The Chamber of Commerce and Industries Kashmir (CCIK) has expressed deep concern over the lack of proper traffic management in Srinagar City on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, causing inconvenience to the public and losses to the business community.
According to CCIK, severe traffic congestion was witnessed in both downtown and other commercial areas, with the Srinagar Traffic Police failing to regulate the flow effectively. In many areas, personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir Police had to step in to manage traffic, despite this being the primary responsibility of the Traffic Police.
CCIK President Tariq Ghani has urged the administration to take immediate measures to streamline traffic management in the city, especially during festive occasions, to ensure smooth movement for shoppers and traders.
The business community has also appealed to the authorities to deploy additional traffic personnel and implement better traffic plans to prevent such disruptions in the future.
CCIK expresses traffic regulation citing Eid and asks government to take care but let us as a responsible citizen and faith followers to raise above from asking come forward contribute as a citizen to make this holy occasion a opportunity to serve society.
To earn His pleasure, excuses to our own made nuisances.
This holy occassion should be society arranged more than government.
