With Constituent Assembly photograph in background, J&K Assembly’s Budget Session begins

Jammu, Mar 02: With the histroric photograph of J&K Constituent Assembly in the background, J&K Assembly’s Budget Session began in Jammu today.

The session has begun with the address of the the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.

As previously reported, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who is also minister in-charge of the Finance department, would present the Union Territory’s budget in the Assembly on March 07.

This would be for the first time in J&K’s history when CM would present the budget

The cabinet headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is set to discuss the 2025-26 annual budget of J&K during its meeting later today. The cabinet is expected to meet tomorrow at 2:00 PM here to give its go-ahead to the budget of the Union Territory.

Meanwhile, MLA Langate Sheikh Khursheed Ahmad displayed placards inside the central hall of Legislative Assembly when Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha began his address. The legislator protested over deaths that occurred in Baramulla and Kathua last month.

As he tried to disrupt the proceedings, he was taken out of the House by Marshals. —(with KNO inputs)
