TAAK holds B2B Meet at Chennai to boosts Kashmir-Tamil Nadu tourism ties

Chennai: The Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK) held an  exclusive B2B Networking Meet on 6th February 2025 in Chennai, marking a significant milestone in its efforts towards  fostering tourism collaboration between Jammu & Kashmir and the southern region.

The event was inaugurated by Mr. Vankatesh, Regional Director of Tourism, Tamil Nadu, who emphasized the growing importance of tourism as a catalyst for regional economic growth and cultural exchange. His address highlighted the potential for both regions to benefit from strengthened ties in the tourism sector.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of travel professionals and key stakeholders from Chennai and surrounding areas, underscoring the rising interest in Jammu and Kashmir’s tourism offerings, especially from the southern states. Travel agents, tour operators, and representatives from various tourism sectors gathered to explore opportunities for partnership and collaboration.

Past President TAAK  Farooq A. Kuthoo spoke at the event, highlighting the immense potential of Kashmir’s tourism industry.

He noted that the state offers an unparalleled backdrop for leisure and adventure tourism.

Mr. Kuthoo shared that during the event, several meetings with stakeholders and filmmakers were held, where there was notable interest in shooting films in the breathtaking landscapes of Kashmir.

“This further solidifies Kashmir’s place as a premier destination for both tourism and film production,” he said.

TAAK’s event focused on a broad spectrum of tourism sectors, including MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), leisure tourism, honeymoon destinations, and adventure tourism in Kashmir. Attendees had the chance to discuss new trends, discover emerging travel opportunities, and build business connections with fellow professionals.

Speaking at the event, Sajad Ahmad Kralyari, Secretary General of TAAK, expressed optimism about the event’s potential to pave the way for greater tourism engagement between Kashmir and Tamil Nadu.

He emphasized the importance of initiatives like this to unlock new avenues for mutual growth in both regions.
