
Srinagar: The government of Jammu & Kashmir has issued an order for allocation of districts to five existing ministers for better coordination, effective implementation of developmental programs, and close monitoring of public services. As per the Government order issued tiday, below is a summary of the district allocations based on ministerial responsibilities:
1. Surinder Kumar Choudhary – Deputy Chief Minister
- Districts Allocated: Jammu, Poonch, Anantnag, Shopian
- As Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Kumar Choudhary will oversee developmental initiatives and public service improvements in these key districts, ensuring balanced growth and addressing local challenges.
2. Ms. Sakeena Masood (Itoo) – Minister for Housing & Urban Development, School Education, Higher Education, and Social Welfare
- Districts Allocated: Kupwara, Srinagar, Samba, Udhampur
- Tasked with managing urban development and education, Ms. Itoo’s portfolio includes pivotal districts like Srinagar, the state’s urban hub, and Kupwara, a frontier region.
3. Javed Ahmed Rana – Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs
- Districts Allocated: Rajouri, Kathua, Doda, Pulwama
- With responsibilities spanning water resources and environmental conservation, Javed Ahmed Rana will focus on preserving natural resources while addressing tribal concerns.
4. Javid Ahmad Dar – Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Cooperatives, and Election
- Districts Allocated: Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kishtwar, Reasi
- Overseeing rural development, agriculture, and cooperative societies, Javid Ahmad Dar’s efforts will aim to empower rural communities and ensure participative governance.
5. Satish Sharma – Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Science & Technology, Youth Services & Sports, and ARI & Trainings
- Districts Allocated: Budgam, Ramban, Bandipora
- Satish Sharma’s diverse portfolio will drive improvements in consumer affairs, transportation, and youth engagement in these districts, including Bandipora, a critical area in north Kashmir.
