Srinagar, Oct 11: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) has confirmed that the formation of the new government in Jammu & Kashmir, led by Chief Minister-designate Omar Abdullah, will happen after three to four days.

Earlier today, Abdullah called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at the Raj Bhawan in Srinagar to formally stake his claim to form the government. He submitted all necessary letters of support from coalition partners.

In a statement issued to media, NC spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq said that the Raj Bhawan has informed that the process to revoke President’s Rule in Jammu & Kashmir commenced tonight and is expected to take three to four days. This procedural step is essential before the new government can assume office.

Once the revocation is completed, Omar Abdullah and his council of ministers will be sworn in, he said.
