Earthquake jolts J&K; north Kashmir experiences strong tremors

Srinagar: Two  earthquake tremors, one of magnitude 5.2,  struck Jammu &  Kashmir this morning on August 20, 2024, at 6:48 AM.

The epicenter was reportedly  located in Baramulla district at a shallow depth of 5 kms.

The quake’s depth was measured at 10 kilometers. Although the tremors were felt across various areas of Jammu & Kashmir, reports received by Ziraat Times suggest tremors were particularly strong in north Kashmir areas of Kupwara and Baramulla. Srinagar and other parts also experienced severe tremors, especially the second tremor. There have been no immediate reports of significant damage or casualties.
