SRINAGAR August 7: CPI(M) leader Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami has voiced serious concern over the “high handedness” in Pahalgam by the authorities during the demolition drive.
He said Pahalgam Development Authority (PDA) officials “should not carry out selective demolition drive and urged them not to favour the rich and punish the poor.”
The residents of Pahalgam for ages together have been the custodians of its serene ambience, the faulty policies have made them suffer; that too badly at a huge cost, he said.
Tarigami demanded an amicable and holistic solution to the issues of the people of Pahalgam. Besides, PDA must ensure that nobody should be allowed to disturb the fragile ecology of Pahalgam.
