Five youngsters hurt in a land mafia attack at Nagbal, Yusmarg

Nagbal, Budgam, August 4: Five persons were injured today at Nagbal Yusmarg in Budgam district when they were attacked by a land Kabza mafia.

According to reports, a kabza mafia, which has been active in Yusmarg area for several months now, and who have several police cases against them, attacked five youngsters at the proprietary orchard land site of A H Wani at Nagbal village in Yusmarg, Chrar Sharief this afternoon.

Eyewitnesses said that the said youngsters  namely Umer Bhat, Ahsan Bashir, Imtiyaz Ahmed Kumar, Zubair Ahmed Bhat, Mohammad Amir Yatoo, hailing from Nagam, Budgam, who were helping in raising the gate at the site, were badly beaten by a group of land mafia, led by Farooq Gorsi and his associates. After getting badly injured the youngsters have been evacuated to Chrar Sharief Police Station to file a formal complaint.

The land mafia  group, who have reportedly several police complaints against them, are  reportedly harassing several other respectable families in the area. J&K’s prominent business Chambers, including Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry, have recently expressed their deep concern about such  growing cases and have appealed the authorities to help restore safety and confidence among the business community.  The affected people  have requested J&K police authorities to take stringent action against the mafia and provide them protection and uphold rule of law.
