Train fares reduced by 40-50% in Kashmir. Here are the new fares

SRINAGAR: Northern Railways announced a reduction in train fares across the Kashmir Valley on Wednesday, media reports said.

“Railways have reinstated second-class ordinary fare on passenger trains in the Valley,” officials confirmed.

The charges have been slashed by 40 to 50 per cent. Previously, the fare from Sadura station (Anantnag district) to Srinagar was Rs 35. It has now been reduced to Rs 15.

This reduction applies to all areas across the Valley in Kashmir, making train travel significantly more affordable, reports suggest.

Currently, rail services operate from Baramulla town in the north of the Valley to Sangaldan in Ramban district of the Jammu division.
