Srinagar, Jan 5: NTTA has expressed anguish over the fire blaze in Dal Lake which engulfed two houseboats leading to losses in crores of rupees.
As per a statement to Ziraat Times, NTTA said that they are deeply saddened at yet another loss of two houseboats that were gutted in Dal Lake.
“Our sympathies are with the houseboat owners who have lost everything in the inferno accumulated over the years in their service to the tourism industry. It is quite shocking that these heritage structures go down in absence of a proper fire fighting system in Dal and Nigeen. This long pending demand of houseboat owners is yet to be met.”
NTTA reiterates its appeal to the administration for setting up comprehensive fire fighting systems in both Dal and Nigeen lakes to avoid incidents like this to happen in the future.
