Teacher, 2 cops among six govt employees sacked in J&K

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir government has sacked six of its employees for having militancy links and working as overground workers for militant organizations.

“The dismissals have been recommended by the official screening committee because of the militancy links of these employees since they are working as overground workers (OGWs) of banned militant outfits”, sources told IANS.

The names, areas and departments of those terminated are as under:

  1. Abdul Hamid Wani, Bijbehera, Teacher, Education Department
  2. Jaffar Hussain Bhat, Kishtwar, J&K Police
  3. Muhammad Rafi Bhat, Kishtwar, Junior Assistant
  4. Liyaqat Ali Kakroo, Baramulla, Teacher, Education Department
  5. Tariq Ahmed Kohli – Rajouri, Forest Department
  6. Showkat Ahmed Khan, Budgam, J&K Police

In July 2021, the Jammu and Kashmir administration had dismissed 11 government employees for their alleged involvement in terror-funding activities.
