Tragedy hits Ompora family; girl feared lifted by leopard remains untraced

Budgam: Tragedy has struck a family in Ompora Housing Colony in Srinagar outskirts in Budgam, when a 4-year-old went missing from her house compound, and is believed to be taken away by a leopard.
According to reports received by Ziraat Times, by Friday morning there was no confirmation of the fate of the little girl.
Local sources told Kashmir News Trust the 4-year-old girl identified as Adha Shakil was playing when leopard is believed to have pounced upon her and taken her away. Locals said they saw blood stains all around and that they are quite sure about the involvement of the leopard.
A police officer said that prima facie it seems that leopard has taken the girl away still they can’t say anything with authority.
In recent months, residents of Ompora have reported spotting a number of leopards in the area. (KNT)
