Srinagar: Jammu & Kashmir Chief Secretary BVR Subramanyam was on Thursday appointed as the Union Commerce Secretary, Government of India.
With Mr Subramanyam’s shifting to the central government, decks have been cleared now for the new chief secretary for Jammu & Kashmir.
Informed sources told Ziraat Timesthat even as several senior officials from both within J&K’s administration and the central government are being considered for the position, Naresh Kumar, the current Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh and Atul Dullo, Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education Department, Govt of J&K, are the frontrunners for the position of J&K’s chief secretary.
“There is a high-level meeting planned to be held at any time on finalising the name. And an announcement is likely to be made very soon”, a top official told Ziraat Times.
