Traditional Tourist Navigational Route in Khushalsar to be restored – Cleansing of Khushalsar

Srinagar: Traditional Tourist Navigational Route in Khushalsar is to be restored after a major cleansing campaign of Khushalsar wetland.

“I am glad that Mission Ehsaas is in its final touches. We are hopeful that within a week the blocked navigation in Khushalsar will be restored. All thanks to the administration, SMC and locals for their support towards the mission”, Manzoor Wangnoo, the man behind the Khushalsar mission told Ziraat Times.

“Today, people were seen fishing in the lake like in old times. These lakes when restored could be of great importance for human use aside from their intrinsic ecological and environmental values, these lakes can prove to be a favourite and major place for recreational attractions for tourists”, he said.

A statement issued by the campaign reads further:

Thanks to Jenab Sarmad Hafeez who is also working on exploring the water bodies especially Pokhribal as a water sports activity arena.

Hopefully now with the support from LAWDA, things will move in a positive direction and we need to unitedly work for the betterment of our natural resources which has a direct impact on our tourism industry.

Lastly thankful to my team NTTA (Haji Lateef sahib Bhat, Riyaz, Muzaffar and Latief etc) who have been actively participating in the mission and volunteering for the cause. Also, support from Div Com Kmr in removing bottlenecks (like moving the govt men and machinery, negative attitude of some indifferent babus & land mafia etc) has been of great help.

I hereby sincerely appreciate the encouragement, motivation and support from
