SRINAGAR: The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), Kashmir Chapter, has strongly condemned the deadly blast at Delhi’s Chandni Chowk, describing it as a “barbaric and inhuman act” that has claimed innocent lives and shaken the trading community across the country.
In a statement issued here, CAIT Kashmir President Farhan Kitab expressed profound sorrow over the incident, particularly mourning the death of Amar Kataria of DV Medicos, Bhagirath Palace, one of the victims of the blast. “The tragic loss of our young fellow trader is deeply painful. This barbaric act is an assault on humanity and peace. Such heinous crimes have no place in a civilised society,” Kitab said.
He urged the Government of India to ensure that those responsible are swiftly identified and brought to justice. “The entire trade and hospitality fraternity of Jammu and Kashmir stands in firm solidarity with the victims and their families during this painful time,” he added, extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
Peer Imtiyaz, General Secretary of CAIT Kashmir Chapter, also condemned the attack, calling it “a cowardly attempt to disturb peace and harmony.” He said the people of Jammu and Kashmir, who have themselves endured years of violence, “reject all forms of terror and hatred” and stand united in support of peace and justice.
Reaffirming CAIT’s commitment to unity and national harmony, Kitab appealed to citizens across India to remain calm, resilient, and united in the face of such challenges. “No act of terror can weaken our collective resolve to uphold the values of humanity, compassion, and brotherhood,” he asserted.
The statement from the Kashmir trade body comes as both Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir’s business communities express deep anguish over the attack, with calls for stronger security measures and renewed efforts to maintain communal peace across regions.
