90th JDA Board Meet: CM Omar Abdullah Calls for Prudent Financial Management

Jammu, November 13: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday chaired the 90th Board of Directors (BoD) meeting of the Jammu Development Authority (JDA) at the Civil Secretariat, where key decisions concerning Jammu’s urban development and infrastructure planning were discussed.

The meeting was attended by Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Dheeraj Gupta, Commissioner Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department Mandeep Kaur, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Rakesh Minhas, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation Devansh Yadav, Vice Chairman, JDA Rupesh Kumar, and other senior officials.

During the meeting, the Board reviewed several crucial agenda items related to urban infrastructure, financial planning, and the ongoing and upcoming development projects under JDA. Each item was discussed in detail, with a focus on improving efficiency, transparency, and the pace of implementation.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah underscored the importance of prudent financial management and timely execution of projects, emphasizing that both were essential for strengthening Jammu’s urban infrastructure and improving public amenities. He called for greater accountability and inter-departmental coordination to ensure the completion of development works within stipulated timelines.

The Board also discussed the revised estimates for the financial year 2024–25 and the budget estimates for FY 2025–26, with deliberations focused on optimizing resource utilization to achieve planned urban growth and sustainable development.

Officials said the meeting reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing livability and infrastructure standards in Jammu through well-planned and people-centric urban development initiatives.
