Pvt schools violating Govt norms of summer vacation: DSEK

Srinagar: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) Thursday said that some private schools were violating the government norms during the ongoing summer vacation.

DSEK said that there were some complaints against some private schools that were asking the students and teachers to attend the school during the vacation period.

The directorate accordingly warned the private schools and ordered them not to compel any student to attend the schools during the ongoing summer vacation

DSEK in a circular said, “It has come to the notice of the directorate that some private schools are asking the students and teachers to attend school during the ongoing summer vacation period on one or the other pretext.”

“This practice is a serious violation of established norms and guidelines, and it undermines the very purpose of these essential breaks,” it reads.

DSEK directed that, “All recognised private schools shall ensure that no student or teacher shall be compelled to attend school or participate in any academic or extra-curricular activities during the officially declared summer vacation period.”

“Any deviation from these circular instructions shall be viewed seriously and invite action as per law,” it reads. —(KNO)
