J&K Bank’s online banking faces snags, frustrated customers seek answers

Srinagar: Customers of Jammu & Kashmir Bank were left frustrated on Sunday today as the bank’s online banking services remained non-functional for the entire day, displaying only an error message on login attempts. The outage comes amid a growing pattern of intermittent digital blackouts, especially for its outside-J&K customers, often without any prior intimation from the bank to its users.

Several customers who raised the matter with Ziraat Times said that it is quitw normal for login attenpts to fail, wasting their time in repeat attempts, and without any intimation when the snag would vanish.

The error message displayed across platforms reads: “The page you were looking for is temporarily not available. We request you to try again after some time.” The message directs users to either call customer care or attempt alternative links, none of which appeared to resolve the issue on Sunday.

The timing of the service disruption has particularly irked customers residing outside Jammu & Kashmir. For many working professionals in other parts of India and abroad, weekends are the only feasible time to conduct online banking. “I had scheduled fund transfers and bill payments today, assuming would get some time on Sunday. But I couldn’t access my account at all,” said Zubair Ahmad, a J&K Bank customer based in Pune. “The most frustrating part is that there was no alert or advance communication from the bank. How are customers supposed to plan around such unannounced blackouts?”

Social media platforms saw a spike in posts from disgruntled users calling for greater transparency and accountability from the bank. “In today’s digital age, this kind of service disruption without any customer advisory is not just inconvenient — it’s unacceptable,” posted another customer from Bengaluru.

J&K Bank has so far not issued any official statement regarding the outage or its cause. The lack of proactive communication, especially for a service as critical as internet banking, has raised serious questions about the bank’s customer support mechanisms and digital infrastructure resilience.
