The Railway Board has advised that if required, an inaugural special service may be planned, with wide publicity and immediate compliance by concerned authorities. The new services are part of India’s broader commitment to improving rail infrastructure in the region.

Speaking to Ziraat Times, local business stakeholders have welcomed the decision, calling it a “landmark development” that would enhance regional trade and make Kashmir more accessible to the rest of India.

Railway authorities are expected to announce the formal launch date shortly, pending operational clearance from the Northern Railway zone.
