Srinagar – In a fresh private sector push for real estate development in Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi-based real estate giant Bhutani Infra hosted an exclusive investor meet in Srinagar this week, drawing a diverse group of prominent investors, business leaders and local stakeholders.
The event, held at a prestigious hotel here, marks another step toward unveiling the company’s first set of ambitious projects in the region, aimed at kickstarting new infrastructural projects here.
The investor meet, organized under the aegis of Bhutani Infra’s strategic expansion into Jammu & Kashmir, focused on outlining the company’s vision for sustainable, tourism-friendly infrastructure that promises to elevate the region’s appeal as a global destination.
Bhutani Infra executives said they plan to bring its expertise to the valley, leveraging the region’s untapped potential in tourism, hospitality and commercial development based on its learning from NCR Delhi and other cities.
The event featured keynote addresses from Bhutani Infra’s leadership, who emphasized the company’s commitment to fostering economic growth while preserving Kashmir’s cultural and environmental heritage.
“Our projects will focus on creating modern, sustainable infrastructure that aligns with the aspirations of the local community and attracts global investors.”
The company outlined its plans to develop mixed-use projects, including luxury retail spaces, hospitality ventures and commercial hubs designed to cater to the growing influx of tourists and businesses in the region.
A key highlight was Bhutani Infra’s assurance of compliance with the Jammu and Kashmir Real Estate Regulatory Authority (JKRERA) guidelines, ensuring transparency and accountability. The company underscored its adherence to the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, with all projects to be registered with JKRERA before commencement, addressing concerns about regulatory oversight in the region’s nascent real estate sector.
“If done in an environmentally sensitive and local architecture complaint manner, this could open up several opportunities for Kashmir,” said Mohammad Aslam, a Srinagar-based entrepreneur.
“The focus on tourism-friendly infrastructure aligns perfectly with the valley’s potential to become a global destination. I’m excited to see how these projects will create jobs and boost local businesses.”
“Bhutani’s projects in Noida, like Alphathum and Cyberthum, have set benchmarks in commercial real estate,” noted Priya Sharma, a Delhi-based investor.
Local environmental activists urged Bhutani Infra to prioritize eco-conscious designs and engage with local communities to ensure the projects respect Kashmir’s delicate ecosystem. In response, Bhutani Infra’s representatives cited their experience with Indian Green Building Council (IGBC)-certified projects like Bhutani Avenue 133 in Noida, which incorporates solar energy and rainwater harvesting systems.
The company also hinted at potential collaborations with local and international partners, including hospitality chains, to develop 5-star hotels and leisure facilities.
