World leaders call upon India, Pakistan to deescalate; resolve issues through dialogue

Following India’s military strikes on Pakistan on May 6, 2025, a number of countries and international leaders have called for de-escalation and urged both nations to resolve their differences through dialogue.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions, urging both India and Pakistan to exercise maximum military restraint. He emphasized that “the world cannot afford a military confrontation between India and Pakistan”.

President Donald Trump described the situation as a “shame” and expressed hope that the clashes would end “very quickly.” Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the U.S. is closely monitoring developments and called for both sides to avoid further escalation.

UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy urged both India and Pakistan to show restraint and engage in direct dialogue to find a swift, diplomatic resolution to the crisis.

China’s Foreign Ministry expressed concern over India’s military operations, urging both countries to act in the larger interest of peace and stability, remain calm, exercise restraint, and refrain from actions that might further complicate the situation.

The Russian Foreign Ministry called on both India and Pakistan to exercise restraint and expressed deep concern about the intensifying military confrontation between the two nations.

European Union: The EU’s foreign policy chief called for de-escalation and emphasized the importance of diplomatic engagement to resolve the conflict.

Japan: Japan’s Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya expressed deep concern that the recent events could lead to further reprisals and escalate into a full-scale military conflict .

United Arab Emirates: UAE’s Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan called for both sides to show restraint and avoid military escalation .

Bangladesh: Bangladesh’s government urged calm and advocated for a peaceful resolution to the tensions between India and Pakistan .

Iran: Iran offered to mediate between India and Pakistan to help de-escalate the situation.

We have been hearing it since 1947 , found running with rabbits hunting with hounds the citizen of Jammu Kashmir Ladhakh hai Tibet the name of our State stands turn apart besides in 1947 turmoil ficed to cross jammu province side or to Pak.oer force to escape from blood shed are the main people say their kith and kin who suffer each time and are called Pakistani .Anyway when governments fail to protect as have been since on this side since 2947.
    Why not both the government work together to catch culprits not difficult government agencies around Phalgam must have been knowing much clear than agencies for who area is quite umlown.
    Be fair strict many beans shall spill. We want peace tranquility brotherhood humanity to go.on.
    Why society is not coming out and share its part being local living in the thick of things.
