Srinagar: Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the security and preparedness situation along the border and Line of Control (LoC) areas in the Union Territory.
In a statement issued after the meeting, the Chief Minister directed officials to prioritise civilian safety, strengthen critical infrastructure, and ensure a swift and coordinated response to any emerging challenges in the border regions.
“The safety and well-being of our civilians living in border and LoC areas is paramount,” Omar Abdullah said. “We must ensure that all government departments work in close coordination to enhance resilience and preparedness.”
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Advisor to Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani and senior officials who briefed the Chief Minister on the current situation, ongoing development work in border villages, and contingency measures in place in case of cross-border incidents or escalations.
The Chief Minister stressed the need for enhanced communication systems, quick response mechanisms, and proactive community engagement to deal with any potential disruptions.
