Abdul Majeed Bhaderwahi’s short stories book “Jalta Gulab” released

Srinagar: A fiction evening (Mehfil-e-Afsana) was organized today at the Seminar Hall, Lal Mandi, under the auspices of the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages.

The event was presided over by Professor Ayaz Rasool Nazki, with noted writer Khalid Hussain as the Chief Guest and Abdal Mahjoor as the Guest of Honour. Additional Secretary of the Kashmir Cultural Academy, Adeel Saleem, was also present on the occasion.

At the outset, Adeel Saleem extended a warm welcome to the guests. During the program, fiction writers Dr. Nazir Mushtaq, Raja Yousuf, Ayub Dilbar, and Rehana Shajar presented their short stories and microfiction, which were followed by an in-depth discussion.

The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the short story collection “Jalta Gulab” (The Burning Rose) by Dr. Abdul Majeed Bhaderwahi. A detailed and well-argued paper on the book was presented by Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Lone, which was well-received by the audience.

In his presidential address, Professor Ayaz Rasool Nazki appreciated the ongoing efforts of the Cultural Academy and expressed hope that such literary events would continue to be organized in the future.

The event was attended by a large number of prominent writers, poets, fictionists, scholars, and students from Amar Singh College. Notable attendees included Rukhsana Jabeen, Shamshad Kralawari, Nazir Fida, Ghulam Nabi Shahid, Khayal Ladakhi, Shafi Ahmad, Asghar Rasool, Nasir Zamir, Javed Rasool, Sheikh Basheer, Abdul Rashid Raahgir, Advocate Khalil ur Rehman, Abid Ahmad, Javed Iqbal Khan, Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Rather, and Jameel Ansari.

The event was skillfully moderated by Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Lone, while the vote of thanks was presented by the editor of Sheeraza Urdu, Muhammad Saleem Saalik.
