Srinagar — The Joint Coordination Committee of Graduate Engineers (JCCGE) of Jammu and Kashmir has strongly condemned the recent killing of innocent tourists in Pahalgam, describing the incident as a “horrific and senseless act of brutality” that has shaken the collective conscience of society.
In a joint statement issued by the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Engineering Graduates Association (JKCEGA) and the Jammu and Kashmir Mechanical Engineering Graduates Association (JKMEGA) to Ziraat Times, the JCCGE expressed deep anguish over the incident and called for urgent action to protect human lives and uphold the region’s tradition of hospitality.
“This inhuman act deserves unequivocal condemnation from every corner of society,” the statement read. “We extend our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to the bereaved families during this hour of unimaginable grief. The administration must ensure all necessary support reaches the affected families.”
The engineering body also urged law enforcement agencies to swiftly identify and bring those responsible for the killings to justice.
As a mark of respect and protest, the JCCGE has called on its members across Jammu and Kashmir to observe a few minutes of silence at their respective offices and workplaces in memory of the lives lost and to denounce the violence.
“May peace prevail,” the statement concluded, “and may such darkness never again overshadow the beauty and hospitality of our land.”
