Srinagar: The Federation of Chambers of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam that claimed the lives of over two dozen innocent tourists, calling it a barbaric and inhumane act that stands in stark contrast to the values of Kashmiri society and Islam.
In an official statement issued to Ziraat Times, FCIK expressed deep shock and grief over the loss of lives and the devastation caused to families who had come to the Valley seeking peace and respite. “This appalling act is not only an assault on human life but a direct attack on the soul of Kashmir—its centuries-old tradition of hospitality, warmth, and harmony,” the statement said.
Reaffirming Kashmir’s commitment to peace and communal harmony, FCIK noted that the incident has wounded the conscience of every resident in the Valley. “Neither any true Kashmiri nor any follower of Islam can support or justify such a cowardly act,” the organization said, highlighting Islam’s core values of peace, mercy, and the sanctity of human life.
The industrial body extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and urged authorities to provide the best possible medical and psychological care to those injured. “Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost their loved ones and those injured in this tragic incident,” the statement added.
FCIK called on all sections of society to unite in denouncing terrorism and to work collectively to restore peace and trust in the Valley. “We must raise our voices against such brutality and reaffirm our shared values of coexistence and safety for all,” it concluded.
