Skill & Entrepreneurship University will equip region’s youth:  Dr. Mustafa Kamal 

Srinagar: J&K National Conference Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal said the key initiatives outlined in Budget 2025-26 will strengthen education by enhancing educational infrastructure, promoting academic excellence and improving student welfare across the region.

Interacting with party members at the party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha, Kamal emphasized that these initiatives are focused on improving educational infrastructure, fostering academic excellence, and enhancing student welfare throughout the region.

Praising the establishment of a National Law University in Jammu and Kashmir as a significant milestone in providing quality legal education and empowering students, Kamal commended the government’s initial allocation of Rs 50 crore for the university, showcasing a serious dedication to higher education.

Additionally, Kamal welcomed the proposed establishment of the Jammu and Kashmir Skill and Entrepreneurship University (J&K SEU) to equip the youth of the region with industry-relevant skills and entrepreneurial opportunities. “This institution will offer advanced training in technology, healthcare, tourism, renewable energy, and traditional crafts, while also promoting innovation, startup incubation, and industry partnerships”he said.

Applauding the substantial increase in the education sector’s budget, now standing at Rs 1,388.97 crore—an increase of Rs 242.75 crore from the previous fiscal year—Kamal stated that this allocation will significantly enhance educational infrastructure, promote academic excellence, and improve student welfare across the region. 

He also praised the government’s decision to upgrade 40 higher secondary schools into integrated K-12 institutions, noting that this move will modernize the education system and cater to evolving academic needs.

Appreciating the government’s focus on higher education, especially the improvement of infrastructure in degree colleges, Kamal remarked, “The increase of 600 polytechnic seats is a crucial step towards enhancing technical education and vocational training, providing students with the necessary skills for a wide range of career opportunities.”
