Major snow, rain spell likely in J&K from 25 Feb to Ist March. Here is detailed Ziraat Times outlook

Srinagar: Thanks to multiple and large Western Disturbance cloud systems, most parts of Jammu & Kashmir are likely to have widespread snowfall and rainfall between 25th February and Ist-2nd  March.

Analysis of multiple data by Ziraat Times suggests that this precipitation spell is going to dump between three to four feet of snowfall on Pirpanjal and Outer Himalayan mountains of Kashmir and parts of Jammu region, while plains Kashmir would receive rains and light to moderate snowfall.

Here is Ziraat Times’ detailed area-wise outlook for this precipitation spell:

Upper reaches of North Kashmir areas of Baramulla, Rafiabad, Sopore, Bandipora, Lolab Valley, Razdan Pass, Gurez, Kupwara, Sadhna Pass are likely to receive snowfall ranging between 2 feet to 3 feet. Plain and karewa areas are likely to receive widespread rainfall and light to moderate snowfall during this period.

Central Kashmir valley plains including Zabarwan range, Dara-Harwan, Dae’chgam Park and Mahadev mountain areas, Tral-Shikargah areas, Ganderbal, Kangan, Sindh valley and Sonmarg are likely to receive 1 feet to 3 feet of snowfall.  Srinagar city and surrounding plain areas would receive widespread rainfall and possible light to moderate snowfall during the period.

The upper reaches of Southern parts of Kashmir valley in Anantnag, Kulgam and Shopian districts, from Verinag, Pahalgam, Kulgam, Damhal Hanjipora, Kapran, Shopian, Pir ki Gali, Bafliaz areas would receive between 1 foot to 3 feet of snow. Plain and Karewa areas would receive rainfall and light to medium snowfall during this period.

Pirpanjal mountain range of upper Poonch, Rajouri and karewa areas in Budgam, Pulwama, Baramulla districts along the range from Doodhpather, Yusmarg, Gulmarg and Kandi Baramulla would receive 6 inches to 2 feet of snowfall.

Bhaderwah, Kishtwar sub regions, upper Doda, Ramban, Banihal, Sinthan Top, Margan Top and Wadwan valley would receive snowfall between 6 inches to 4 feet.

Jammu plains are likely to receive moderate to heavy rainfall during this period.
