CII J&K announces new office bearers for its 2025-26 Council 

Srinagar: Dr. M A Alim has assumed the role of Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) J&K UT Council for the year 2025-26. Iqram Shafiee has been elected the Vice Chairman.

Dr. Alim, the CEO of Packaging Design Industries, holds a doctorate in Economics, specializing in Financial Microeconomics, and brings extensive experience from government service and public life, a statement issued to Ziraat Times said.

He is a double gold medalist, receiving accolades from both the University of Kashmir and the R R Sahai Foundation, New Delhi, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field of Economics over the past decade.

Dr. Alim has worked with multiple central ministries, including Tourism, Science & Technology, and Transport, serving at the Cabinet Ministry level for approximately six years. He has also served in the Civil Secretariat of the J&K Government for another six years, working with the Ministries of Information Technology, Tourism, Youth Services & Sports, and Transport, alongside the then Cabinet Minister.

Iqram Shafiee has been elected as Vice Chairman of the CII J&K Council for the year 2025-26.

Shafiee, the Managing Director of Shafiee Healthcare Pvt Ltd, is dedicated to enhancing healthcare services and has gained diverse experience in healthcare management, working with various teams and stakeholders.

A law graduate, Shafiee has been closely associated with CII, serving as Convener of the CII J&K Healthcare Panel in 2024-25. His past leadership roles include:

  • Member, CII Northern Regional Healthcare Committee (2023-24)
  • Co-Chairman, Entrepreneurship & Skills, CII Young Indians National Team
  • Co-Chairman, National Retreats, Young Indians (2018)
  • Member, Young Indians National Team for Rural Initiatives (2016-2017)
  • Chairperson, Young Indians – CII Srinagar Chapter (2014-2017)

Both Dr. Alim and Shafiee bring strong leadership and expertise to the CII J&K Council, aiming to drive industrial and economic growth in the region, the press statement added.
