Shifting of Doodhpathri tea kiosks: protest continues for 3rd day

Budgam: The tea sellers of Doodhpathri, Khansahib in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, continued to protest for the third consecutive day against the Tourism department’s decision of relocating their stalls to a spot near the toll post.

The relocation has sparked concerns among the tea sellers, who claim the move has disrupted their livelihoods.

“We have been working here for years, earning just enough to feed our families. Now, shifting us all to one place will ruin our business,” said Zeba, a protesting tea seller. “This decision is unfair and impractical.”

In response, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Doodhpathri convened a meeting with the protesting service providers to address their grievances.

The CEO stated that all vendors had been operating illegally and assured that a structured process would be initiated. “We will implement a ‘one family, one stall’ rule to streamline operations and resolve the matter soon,” the CEO added—. (KNO)
