Dr. Farooq, Omar Abdullah condole demise of Devinder Singh Rana 

Sagar, Kamal, Nasir others also share in grief of bereaved Rana household 

Srinagar, 1 Nov: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Friday expressed profound shock and grief over the demise of MLA Nagrota and Senior BJP leader Devender Singh Rana, who passed away in a hospital in NCR. 

The duo prayed for peace to the departed soul and much needed strength to the bereaved Rana household. 

In his condolence message, Dr. Farooq said, “We had good relations with him, but in 2021 he left the National Conference. We never made any statement against him. Death is inevitable and spares no one. Whoever has come, has to go,” Abdullah said. Offering support to family and supporters, he said, “May God give courage to them to bear this shock. We are with them in this hour of grief.”

In his condolence message, Omar said, “The terrible news from late last night isn’t really sinking in. I know the last few years have been marked by our differences Devender but I prefer to focus on the fun times we shared together, the excellent work we did together & the memories. You have been taken from us all too soon & will be missed. May your soul rest in peace now DSR. My heart goes out to your family as I struggle to find the words to convey my condolences to them.”

Among others Party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Addl GS Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, MPs Mian Altaf Ahmad, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi; Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, Political Advisors Mushtaq Guroo, Mudassar Shahmiri have also extended condolences and sympathies to the bereaved household. 

Earlier Dr. Farooq Abdullah visited the Khan household in Zakoora to offer his condolences on the passing of Mrs. Bashir Ahmad Khan, wife of Prof. Bashir Ahmad Khan. 

He expressed his sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul. 

The deceased was the sister of former J&K Bank Chairman Mohammad Yousuf Khan.
