PHDCCI Kashmir and Jammu call on Admin to act against land grabbers

Srinagar, August  4; The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industries Kashmir chapter has requested  the administration to urgently crackdown on land grabbers who are encroaching on various tourist places, wetlands, forest land, and even private properties through nefarious means. “The rampant activities of these land mafias are detrimental to the environment and the economy”, PHDCCI said in a statement today.

This alarming trend of land grabbing through various fraudulent methods poses a significant threat to the sanctity of public and private lands. The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industries J&K condemns such actions and urges the government to take decisive and stringent measures against these land mafias, the statement added.

PHDCCI Jammu Chapter has also expressed deep concern over this land grabbing phenomenon in J&K and has called upon the administration to take stringent measures against this menace.

Pertinently, an active land grab mafia has been intimidating a few proprietary land owners in Yusmarg and various other areas lately in Kashmir, resulting in deep anxiety among the farming and business communities in J&K.

PHDCCI said it is imperative for the administration to demonstrate a firm stance against these illegal practices to restore the faith of the common people in the government’s commitment to upholding the rule of law. By holding the perpetrators of land grabbing accountable, the government can send a clear message that such activities will not be tolerated, the chamber said.

The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industries stands in solidarity with all efforts to safeguard the integrity of land ownership rights and protect valuable natural resources from exploitation. We urge the authorities to prioritize this issue and implement strict measures to deter and penalize those involved in land grabbing activities.
