BJP releases first list of 44 candidates for J&K Assembly polls

Srinagar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its first list of 44 candidates for the upcoming Jammu & Kashmir Assembly elections, which are scheduled to be held in three phases in September and October 2024. Some of the  candidates announced include:

1. Arshid Bhat – Rajpora
2. Javed Ahmad Qadri – Shopian
3. Mohammad  Rafiq Wani – Anantnag West
4. Adv. Syed Wazahat – Anantnag
5. Sushri Shagun Parihar – Kishtwar
6. Gajay Singh Rana – Doda
7. Kuldeep Raj Dubey – Reasi
8. Rohit Dubey – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi
9. Chowdhary Abdul Ghani – Poonch Haveli

The BJP is focusing on both its traditional strongholds in Jammu and key constituencies in the Kashmir region, fielding candidates across a range of areas in the Union Territory. This is the first assembly election in Jammu & Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.
