Mumbai: Against all expectations for a huge surge, benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty opened on a negative note on Tuesday and have quickly dropped over 3 per cent each as early trends show that BJP may not have the huge majority that the exit polls had shown.
At 9:235 am, Sensex was at 74,294.14, down 2500 points or 2.84 per cent lower.
Nifty was at 22,568.30, down 695.60 points or 2.99 per cent lower.
