J&K Bank issues alert on scam messages targeting customers

Srinagar, June 5 – J&K Bank has issued a public warning to its customers regarding fraudulent messages being circulated under the guise of official updates from the bank. The bank clarified that these messages are part of a scam aimed at deceiving customers into clicking on malicious links or downloading harmful files.

In a recent notification, received by Ziraat Times, J&K Bank highlighted that these fraudulent messages often appear to be sent from a legitimate-looking contact, complete with the bank’s logo and branding. However, the bank stressed that it never sends updates on an individual basis through such means.

The fraudulent messages typically contain links that, when clicked, can compromise personal information or install malware on the recipient’s device. The bank urged customers to refrain from clicking on any links or downloading files from suspicious messages claiming to be from J&K Bank.

How customers could be more vigilant:

– Do not click on any links or download files from suspicious messages.
– J&K Bank does not send individual updates through such messages.
– Report any suspicious messages to the bank immediately.
– Verify any communication by contacting J&K Bank’s official channels.
