Srinagar: Mother Dairy and Amul have both announced a price hike of ₹2 per litre for their milk products, effective from early June 2024. These rate hikes will be applicable across Jammu & Kashmir as well.
For Mother Dairy, the new prices in the Delhi-NCR region, which are minimum price hikes for J&K, are as follows:
– Full-cream milk: ₹61 per litre (previously ₹59)
– Toned milk: ₹51 per litre
– Double toned milk: ₹45 per litre
– Cow milk: ₹53 per litre.
Amul’s price hike affects various milk variants across several markets, including Ahmedabad, J&K, Delhi NCR, Kolkata, and Mumbai:
– Amul Gold: ₹60 per litre
– Amul Taaza: ₹50 per litre
– Amul Shakti: ₹54 per litre.
Additionally, in 500 ml packages, Amul Gold is priced at ₹30, Amul Taaza at ₹24, and Amul Shakti at ₹27.
The companies attribute the price increase to rising costs in energy, packaging, logistics, and cattle feed, which have significantly impacted their overall production costs.
