Srinagar, June 3: Kashmir’s famed automotive legacy is set to come back to life as Alson Motors, the region’s oldest car dealership, announced its return to the market with a new vision and product range. The company, once a household name for the automotive sector in Jammu and Kashmir, is set to re-establish its presence with a modern twist, embracing both Electric Vehicles (EV) and Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) versions. The relaunch will also see the introduction of three new motorcycle models catering to sports, adventure, and cruising enthusiasts.
Alson Motors history
Founded by the late Khwaja Ali Shah over seventy years ago, Alson Motors quickly became synonymous with trust and quality in the Kashmir automotive market. The company led the sector for decades, building a reputation for excellent customer service and reliable vehicles. However, introduction of newer car brands, political unrest and rising competition eventually led to the closure of Alson Motors, marking the end of an era.
The Revival
Today, Syed Niaz Ahmed Shah, son of the late Ali Shah, alongside his children Dawood Shah, Khairulnissa Shah, and Sadaf Niaz Shah, announced the relaunch of Alson Motors. The family’s vision is to revive the brand by incorporating modern EV and ICE technology, while still honoring the legacy of their forebear.
Alson Motors is set to offer motorcycles from renowned manufacturers such as Benelli, Keeway, and Moto-Vault. These bikes are designed to cater to various biking styles, whether for sport, adventure, or cruising.
In addition to sales, Alson Motors plans to open a Riders Cafe and World Club, creating a vibrant hub for bikers to connect, share experiences, and enjoy a new standard of biking culture. This initiative will be undertaken in partnership with Benelli India, further enhancing the biking experience in the region.

Benelli, with its Italian heritage, provides a broad lineup that includes adventure bikes, cruisers, scramblers, naked Bikes and small capacity bikes.
Keeway’s product range in India includes: Cruisers, Naked Bikes, Adventure Bikes, Scooters.
Moto-Vault offers a selection focused on performance and innovation like Sportbikes, Adventure and Touring Bikes.
