Sana Fayaz from Kashmir secures 12 rank in Indian Forest Service exam

SRINAGAR: Sana Fayaz from Peer Bagh area of Srinagar in Kashmir has clinched the 12th All India Rank (AIR) in the Indian Forest Service examination, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Sana is one among the 147 successful candidates declared.

Having had her schooling from Presentation Convent Higher Secondary School, Ms Sana  obtaining a Bachelor of Technology degree from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Srinagar. Her passion for environmental conservation led her to pursue a postgraduate degree in Climate Change Studies, further solidifying her expertise in the field.

Thereafter, Ms Sana embarked on her Civil Services journey shortly after completing her engineering in 2017. Undeterred by initial challenges, she attempted both the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) and UPSC examinations in the same year. Although success eluded her at that time, she persisted with resilience and determination.

In 2021, Sana made a triumphant return, appearing for the JKAS for the second time and the UPSC for the fourth time. Her perseverance bore fruit as she emerged victorious in both endeavours, marking a significant milestone in her career trajectory.
